The Dutch Wencon Service partner Loenen Repairs made a pressure test on a pipe repair of a steampipe.
The application was done with a combination of Wencon Putty, Wencon Hi-Temp and Wencon Reinforcement tape and was carried out on board of a vessel. The repair was just an emergency repair. After this emergency repair Loenen Repairs made new pipes in his workshop and installed the pipes when the vessel was again in port.
The repaired pipes are pressure tested in Loenen’s workshop. The pressure was stepped up from 0 to 50 Bar. After 50 Bar they stopped and there was no leakage.
It is very clear that Loenen can carry out high quality Wencon Pipe Repairs without any hot work what is very important in a hazardous environment.
Especially on old pipes it is important to do this type of cold epoxy repairs instead of welding. This cold repair methode last longer and is stronger.
